Barong Naga: dragon (or serpent) barong. Barong is a lion or dragon-like creature and character in the mythology of Bali, Indonesia. He is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in Barong dance to represent the eternal battle between good and evil.

 In Bali, there is also a myth of a dragon with a fierce and protective love for the pearl. The dragon leaves his home in the Balinese volcanos each evening and visits his pearl at the bottom of the sea. When he returns to his lair, his scales shed water into the fields, bringing the island love, prosperity and protection. This dragon, the Naga, is sacred to the Balinese and a symbol of our connection to the natural world.
